The Art of Living is hosting on 21st / 22nd November 2008 ONE THOUSAND SITARISTS. They will perform together on one platform. This will be a historical event spreading the message of harmony and peace through music.

In March 2008, Delhi saw a preview of musicians on stage.  Two Hundred Sitarists performed creating a mesmerizing experience.

The philosophy of Indian Classical Music took its origin from the concept of Nada Brahma, which means the whole universe was created from the energy of sound. Through rich melodies in Indian Classical music, every human emotion, every subtle feeling in man and nature can be musically expressed and experienced.

Sitar represents regality and even today embodies in itself the rich musical heritage of India. Thus it is not surprising that sitar has been the instrument of obvious emphasis in this concert. While the youth is busy strumming the strings of guitar, this concert attempts to refresh their minds and remind them of its potent presence. If Sitar can once again come to the forefront and be a part of today's dynamic youth culture then the profound purpose behind this thoughtful concert would be served.

We invite you to be a participating school/ college/ institution / individual and be a part of this first ever music spectacle. The programme will be attended by over two lakh people. It will be telecast on leading channels. This will be a 5 day stay in Delhi. 2 Days for rehearsals, 1 day for sound check prior to the performance on 21st / 22nd Nov. The recital will be for approximately half an hour. The music composition will be sent by mail / CD / audiocassette so will the notations. Each School/ college will identify a team leader/ teacher who will ensure each participant rehearses well the music composition. Railway travel fare by ordinary class\ also boarding\ lodging and a token stipend of appreciation along with certificate of participation will be given to each participant.  

We request you to give us your confirmation in writing. A minimum ten participants will make your institute eligible for a trophy and special mention during the event.

Please give us information of No. of confirmed participants by 30th September latest.
