National Abilympic Association of India (NAAI) organizes  Abilympics which are vocational skill competitions for  persons with disabilities (PWD).  Abilympics enable persons with disabilities to showcase and enhance their skills, expose them to latest technology and learn from others in their respective vocational fields.  

A team of  40 participants represented India in 7th International Abilympics held in Japan during November 2007 and won 3 silver medals, 1 bronze medal and a certificate of merit.   8th International Abilympics are  scheduled to be held in Korea in 2011.
It is proposed to hold Regional  Abilympics  2009– North Zone from January 5-7, 2009.  The proposed programme for the Regional Abilympics is as follows :  

I.          Host Organisation : National Abilympic Association of India C/o Amar Jyoti Charitable Trust, Karkardooma, Vikas Marg,  Delhi –  110092.
II.         Dates  :   January 5-7, 2009                                  

III.       Skill Contest details : A copy of the Vocational Skills and Leisure & Living Skills Contests for the Regional Abilympics 2009 is enclosed.  Detailed task assignments will be sent after hearing from you.  Contests will be held only if there are a minimum of three contestants from at least two organizations.

IV.       Who can participate :  

q              A person with any disability (40% and above). A copy of the Disability Certificate should be attached to the registration form.

q              He / She should be 15 years and above as on December 31, 2008.

V.            Participation in skill contests :

v             He / She can participate in any contest given in the attached list.

v             He / She can participate in a maximum of two contests if the date and time do not clash.

VI.         Travel :  The travel expenses to & fro of the participants will be borne by either the sponsoring organization or the participant himself/herself. However, Boarding and Lodging arrangements will be made by NAAI.

VII.       Registration :   All participants are required to register themselves before December 15, 2008 so that necessary  arrangements can be  made.  

Ø             Registration Fee :  Each contestant is required  to pay registration fee of Rs. 200/- (Rs. Two hundred only) per contest. The registration fee for each Official/Escort will be  Rs. 300/-.  The team can send registration fee together by DD/cheque  in favour of National Abilympic Association of India payable at Delhi.  In case of outstation cheques  please add Rs. 50/- as bank charges.

Ø             For individual participants :  If he/she is not a part of any organization, it is requested that he/she should approach a neighbourhood organization and become part of their team.  In case it is not possible, the contestant may send his/her registration fee of Rs. 200/- individually along with the Registration Form.  The DD/cheque  should be sent in favour of National Abilympic Association of India payable at Delhi. In case of outstation cheques please add Rs. 50/- as bank charges.

Ø             If any contestant wants to participate in two contests, he/she will have to pay Rs. 400/- (Rs. 200/- per contest).

Ø             Each contestant should send an additional photograph with name written at the back  along with the registration form.

VIII.    Information required from the organisation sending the team :   A set of registration forms  is enclosed which may be filled in and sent before  December 15, 2008:


ü             Delegation Form with a list of contests/ competitions (Form 1 & 1a :  Please fill the information about the whole team the organization is sending and the number of contestants against each contest.   For Officials & Escorts please fill Form 3.

ü              Participant Form with a list of contests :  Form 2 & 2a : Each participant (contestant/ escort/ official) must fill a separate form and tick the contests he/she would like to participate. Also affix a photograph on the form in the space provided for the same. A copy of the disability certificate of the contestant should also be attached with the form.

ü             Outstation participants please fill Form 4 giving  Arrival & Departure details.


IX.         Medical :   A First –aid post will be provided at the lodging and venue sites for any emergency. All participants are,  however, requested to bring their medicines with them.
