We A dynamic and determined group of persons with disability tried to
set the record straight by saying that we are also an inseparable part
of the community, having the potential to prove ourselves and rather
than having pity on us if the society gives us a chance, we will prove
our worth. The person with disabilities did not have to search tool
long for a cause to prove their worth since the cause was they
themselves. And that started a new movement altogether wherein persons
with disabilities said, We know what our problems are and what should
be its solution. Who are the non-disabled to lead us and our movement?
We know our problems best and therefore must have a definite say in
what is being done for us.?
The basic objective of the organization is to dedicate itself to work
with the persons with disabilities to enable them to get access to
education, employment, equal opportunities and social justice and
government benefits. We are a group of persons with disabilities and
our aim is to try and help all the persons with disabilities in their
progress,
Government has failed to provide the employment to the disabled person
after making the law. There is act call PWDs Act 1995. under the act
there is provision that there should be 3% reservation for the Pwds in
all the govt sector job and govt will provide some special incentives
to private sector for provide the employment to the pwds.but till now
now government has not done any thing on the subject. And thousands of
the pwds are still unemployed after getting the higher education.
Here it is some facts related to the disabled employment in the
country which may be stressed to any sincere person. The fact says
that :-
• Percentage of employees with disabilities in the Public Sector: 0.54%
• Percentage of employees with disabilities in the Private Sector: 0.28%
• Percentage of employees with disabilities in the Multinationals: 0.05%
When the government sidesteps the issue of formulating clear-cut
policies and enabling measures for the disabled, it is denying a
peaceful minority in this country a basic and inalienable human right
-- the right to live with dignity
To protest this inaction, people with disability and their relatives,
friends, familiy members and activists will stage a peaceful dharna at
Dist Employment Exchange Karkardooma, Delhi, soon and will
continue the same throughout the day to shame a government that has
failed to provide employment to people with disability. This is
achievable goals and the government must take responsibility to
provide employment to each eligible disables individual.
We want to see a society where every disabled is employed and earns at
least something. If anyone asks for our help, we are always there..?
We know what our problems are and what should be its solution. Who are
the non-disabled to lead us and our movement? We know our problems
best and therefore must have a definite say in what is being done for
us.?
