Dear Team,
Sometimes new members and even existing members do make mistakes while posting or replying to topics.
For eg instead of replying to an existing topic some members post reply as a new topic, they realise their mistake only afterwards.
So if we have a delete opition - then atleast they can delete the said topic and post it in the correct topic.
The Delete option may be made available to members to delete only the topics posted by them.
In this way I feel errors can be avoided.
Regards
Thomas

Hello Thomas,
Thanks for reporting this.

Absolutely true, afterall we all make mistakes.

I have now made a 'delete' option available so that members may 'delete' or 'edit' their posts if after posting they feel the need to do so.
Being associated with several forums I am aware that most forums do not like these options to be provided as then some people edit/ delete their posts much later, e.g. a week after the original posting, thereby making it difficult for future visitors to understand the context of the posts that folllow the edited/ deleted post. e.g. If I started a topic on 'seeking advice regarding what I should do in response to a certain discrimination I am facing at work' and lets say about 10 people responded to that and now, after incorporating the suggestions offered my problem has been resolved - so I now go back to my original post that started the discussion and edit it to read 'problem sorted', or worse still delete it......this makes it very difficult for people who visit this topic for the first time to understand the context of the discussion. Now this is only one example that I could think of straight off my head but I am sure you will appreciate there may me several instances where such an unintended confusion can be created by having the options of 'deleting' & 'editing' freely available. This is the reason why most forums do not have these options.
In light of your request (which I personally agree with), I have made available the options of 'deleting' & 'editing' posts to all our members for 12 minutes after posting, after which time these options will no longer be available. This will enable all to correct their posts, if needed, within a resonable time immediately after posting. I hope, with the above explanation, you will appreciate my reasons for a restricted access to these tools.
I look forward to you comments.
Regards
