Hello,

I have a Maruti WagonR that i will like to get modified so i can drive it myself (Im a paraplegic with no power in my legs).

Any ideas how do i go about getting the hand control modifications for my car ?

Pl. check up with your local RTO whether they will register such altered / modified vehicle, which is essential & also your MDL will have to be specially endorsed for such I.C.

Can you please explain what MDL stands for.

Also I am assuming that I.C. stands for an Insurance Certificate ?

hey i think i am a bit delayed, still I'd like to know if you were able to do that alteration? well, I am a para too, and i am self driving for the past 3 years, i did my car aulteration in kerala itself, all operation doing by hands (my sweet maruty 800)

its done by one Mr musthapha, he also a para.......

total cost i had around 15000

You can get it done from FERRO EQUIP located in Mumbai. It is done by Ferdinand popularly known as Ferdy. he can ber contacted on +919820120556 or visit the site handicappedpeople.com
His hand-control are well accepted and have been used safely, comfortabley and relibly by many physically challenged drivers. Hope this information will help you.

If you are in North India (like me), you can get your vehicle modified in Delhi. There is a very good mechanic called Rupesh who modified my WagonR as well. Let me know if you need details.

It's better to consult your nearest maruthi workshop or other authorised automobile workshops to get altered  hand driven car for enable you to drive yourself.
