Hello all,

I am in delhi, visiting some relatives.

I would like to go out for a movie with my cousins, preferably in south delhi but have no idea about disabled friendly areas here.

Can anyone please advice on cinemas - preferably in south delhi - where i can go in my wheelchair. It is important that i can watch the movie from my wheelchair as i can not transfer to the cinema seat.

Hi Manoj,

the two accessible cinema halls that I am aware of in South Delhi are PVR at Vasant Vihar and Chanakya cinema theater in Chanakyapuri.

At both these halls at the time of buying tickets it may be advisable to tell them that you have a wheelchair user along so that they can give u the right seats. Rather my experience says pre book to make sure you get comfortable seats.

Also two halls in PVR Saket are accessible but I am not sure which two, so again I recommend call before landing.

I think the two PVR's Shivani is talking about are PVR - Saket and PVR Priya, which is vasant vihar.. these two cinema halls to my knowledge are accessible (to an extent) and they allow persons using wheelchairs to park adjacent to the seating row and watch the movie comfortably from that position.

I would however advise you to confirm that before hand to avoid any uncomfortable situation. The following may help:

"Call 505787 from your mobile, valid for all users in Delhi , Gurgaon and Faridabad circles but in Bangalore it is for Airtel subscribers only.

For home delivery of tickets call 41510787 ( Delhi , Gurgaon), 01295009898 ( Faridabad ) or 51100787 ( Bangalore ).

A sum of Rs. 50 is levied as an extra charge for home delivery of tickets."
