Powder is a 1995 film directed by Victor Salva, about an albino boy, nicknamed "Powder", with paranormal powers over electricity. It stars Sean Patrick Flanery in the title role, with Jeff Goldblum, Mary Steenburgen, Bradford Tatum, Lance Henriksen, and Brandon Smith in supporting roles. The film questions the limits of the human mind and body while also displaying their capacity for cruelty, and the hope that one day humanity will advance beyond technology.

Powder's real name is Jeremy Reed. His mother gets struck by a lightning bolt while pregnant with him. She dies shortly after, but Powder survives. Born an albino (a medical condition in which there is no pigmentation, or color in the skin), his father disowns him and leaves him in the hospital.

The Killing Fields (1984) is an award-winning British film drama about the Khmer Rouge regime in Cambodia
The film opens in May of 1973 in the Cambodian capital, Phnom Penh. The Cambodian national army is fighting a civil war with the communist Khmer Rouge, a result of the Vietnam War overspilling that country’s borders.

Dith Pran, a Cambodian journalist and interpreter for New York Times reporter Sydney Schanberg, awaits the arrival of Schanberg at the Phnom Penh airport when he leaves suddenly. Schanberg arrives after his flight is delayed for three hours and, irritated that Pran is not at the airport, takes a cab to his hotel. Pran meets Schanberg at the scene and tells him that an incident has occurred in a town, Neak Leung; allegedly, an American B-52 has bombed the town by mistake.

You need a brain, I need legs--and the Wizard of Oz doesn't live in south Cincinnati.

So speaks a twisted little boy named Kevin to a hulking giant named Max, in the new movie ``The Mighty.'' They're both in seventh grade in Cincinnati--Max for the third time--and they're both misfits.

Max, known to his cruel classmates as the Missing Link, feels like Godzilla as he lumbers down the school corridors, and says, ``Sometimes seems like the whole world has just seen me on `America's Most Wanted.'

Ordinary People is an Academy Award-winning 1980 American motion picture drama and the directorial debut of Robert Redford. The story is about the disintegration of an upper middle class family in Lake Forest, Illinois, following the death of the oldest son. It was based upon the 1976 novel by Judith Guest.

The Jarretts, a family from Chicago's North Shore, try to return to normal life after the attempted suicide of their teenage son, Conrad, who has recently come home following a four-month stay in a psychiatric hospital. Alienated from his friends and family, Conrad, having left the hospital, must still see a psychiatrist, Dr. Berger, who learns that the boy had been involved in a sailing accident that killed his beloved older brother, Buck. Buck, a superior athlete and student to Conrad, clearly came first in everyone's estimation (including Conrad's). Calvin Jarrett, the father, awkwardly struggles to connect with his surviving son, who is tormented by clinical depression, survivor guilt, and post-traumatic stress disorder. His wife Beth, who clearly loved the dead son more, has shut off her emotions and vulnerability and has become obsessed with maintaining the appearance of perfection and normality

The Sixth Sense is a 1999 Academy Award-nominated psychological horror film written and directed by M. Night Shyamalan that tells the story of Cole, a troubled, isolated boy (Haley Joel Osment) who claims to be able to see and talk to the dead (with the famous line, "I see dead people"), and an equally troubled child psychologist (Bruce Willis) who tries to help him. The film established Shyamalan as a writer and director, and introduced the cinema public to his signatures: his appearance in Hitchcock-like cameos and his liking for twist endings.

The Best Years of Our Lives (1946) is an American drama film about three servicemen trying to piece their lives back together after coming back home from World War II.

After World War II, demobilized servicemen Fred Derry (Dana Andrews), Homer Parrish (Harold Russell), and Al Stephenson (Frederic March) meet while hitching a ride home in a bomber to Boone City, a fictional Midwestern city, patterned after Cincinnati, Ohio. Homer had been in the navy, losing both of his hands because of burns suffered when his aircraft carrier was sunk. He has become skilled in the use of his mechanical prosthesis replacements.
