Announcing Online/Offline Training Opportunity for IBM's Service Management Positions in Bangalore - (batches starting 6th June, enroll now!)
WHO CAN GET THE TRAINING?
Training location:
Student can be anywhere in India if they have access to a PC and internet, Or worst case scenario, they should have a land line phone from where they can call in.
Fees:
300 Rs. 100 Rs is money for the CDs sent to them/courier charges.
200 Rs will be refunded at the end of training to ensure that they attend the training seriously.
It will not be refunded if attendance is not regular
Duration:
2 weeks (proposed). It may extend for some candidates based on evaluation – we expect language to be one of the main factors that may require more training time.
Timing:
2 to 5 pm (proposed) or based on students batches
Online Training:
Tech skills –Concepts which will be required for the job (Remote)
Comp skills – Excel (Functions, autofilter, pivot table, hlookup, vlookup)
Work counseling: Use case discussion
Communication skills – fluency in spoken English, business English,
Offline or Onsite Training:
Interview preparation Training - Interview preparation, Attitude development (onsite)
Student tasks before training:
1. Finish registration with Enable India (through contact details mentioned below)
2. Get evaluated by their staff regarding your suitability for IBM and areas identified for training
3. Have PC with internet OR find a CyberCafe where you can go everyday or alternate day for 3 hours or go to an NGO which is willing to provide you access.
4. Budget 3 hours every day or every alternate day based on schedule decided. Also budget cybercafé charges (perhaps 400+ Rs for 2 weeks)
5. Make sure Skype or Yahoo messenger or Windows messenger is loaded on that machine
6. Send cheque of 300 Rs to Enable India at communication address mentioned in signature below. This is so that we can send you the training CDs
7. Before day 1 of training, listen to all the training material provided and read the notes given.
During training:
1. Finish your homework on a daily basis and submit it online based on our instructions
2. Keep all material – CDs and text material safely. You may be asked to return it, so that they can used for needy candidates
3. After two week’s evaluation, You may be asked to book your ticket for interview in Bangalore. Alternatively, we will ask you to find a cybercafé and see if we can do remote interview. Alternatively, we will find an IBM staff person in your city to take your initial interviews
4. If you require further training, you may need to spend two more weeks in online training before interview
After training:
Enable India will give you refund of 200 Rs. If you were regular for the training you will be called for interview immediately or in a month based on IBM’s requirement.
You are expected to keep refreshing yourself with the knowledge
If you are coming to Bangalore, you will need to stay for 2 to 3 days based on IBM’s requirement.

JOB DESCRIPTION
Disability type:
Physically disabled, Visually impaired
Role:
Service coordinator in the Global service delivery centre
Qualifications:
Degree (Non BE/B Tech/ME/M Tech) or Diploma in computer science (but 15 years education should be complete).
Freshers are welcome, (They have a small quote of BE folks they look at. By and large they discourage BE candidates for this role)
Technical Skills :
BASIC CAPABILITY TO UNDERSTAND TECHNICAL TERMS –eg: IT Savvy, Basic Networking Concepts, Familiarity with Windows Operating Systems, Hardware Knowledge, Basic Understanding of IT Infrastructure Concepts
Non Technical Skills :
Good Communication Skills, Documentation Skills, Negotiation Skills.
Good Stress Management and Problem Solving Techniques.
Excellent customer/client handling skills
Ability to coordinate work between teams across geographies
Ability to quickly assimilate technical and non-technical information
Should be prepared to work in a 24/7 environment

Could someone please explain to me what is the meaning of Service Management Positions?
What is the job that would be given to a person after the completion of the training?
Can this training be pursued by working persons?
Hope to hear some replies soon.
