Do you think that the recruitment of people with disabilities has been affected due to recession?
Do you feel that NGOs or Placement Consultants speciailly for people with disabilities are doing their maximum in finding out suitable opportunities?
Do you think that NGOs or Consultants are taking interest in the career development of experienced people with disabilities? I mean disabled candidates who have ample work experience and need help to jump jobs for career development and money?
Let me know what all of you think on this

Let me start giving my feedback here -
1. I think yes, the recession has affected the recruitment of abled bodied persons and hence the recruitment of people with disabilities too takes a back seat
2. I feel that they are personally not doing much, they just try to find out something for the unemployed candidates, in most cases something not commensurate with qualifications, and also salary paid to people with disabilities is lesser compare to those abled candidates on the same role in a company. Something needs to be done on this, or else we are just deafeating the purpose of the so called Equal Opportunity Policy. One good example is a leading BPO in Bangalore which hired PWDs in large numbers but the salary paid is something around 6000 PM, when in reality an abled bodied person starts earning a minimum of 10000 PM in an ordinary BPO.
3. I am yet to come across an NGO or a Consultant who help experienced candidates with disabilities in their job hunt. I heard one consultant from Mumbai telling me, we are more concerned on the quantity than the quality, it means she is more concerned about the number of unemployed. One way good but her interpretation is wrong in another way. Another lame duck excuse is something is better than nothing.............
Well but our employability team in Accessability here most probably would be agreeing to my views, I am sure they are thinking different since they call themselves a non charitable organization, and work for the cause of people with disabilities from a professional angle. . Just hoping that they make their mark in India soon.
