I want to share one of experience in a mall in Faridabad. The name of the mall is Parsvnath City Mall & its in Sector-12 Faridabad. The mall is wheel chair accessible. It has ramps & if u tell they provide wheel chair too. U can also add this mall in the website so that if anyone visits Faridabad can visit this mall.

People with disabilities enjoy the same array of personal and social benefits from outdoor recreational pursuits as people without disabilities. With 19.7 percent of the population of the United States having a disability (U.S. Bureau of the Census, 2001), it is imperative that facility managers and site planners meet the challenge of providing accessible outdoor facilities and activities without fundamentally altering the nature of the activity itself.

hi all,
just starting to do some research for a 6 month trip to india with my grandparents and i keep coming across information that seems to indicate that it is not possible to travel independently in parts of northern india (himachal pradesh, uttarakhand, etc.) without permits. is this true? any way around this other than going on a group tour? is it unwise to travel in this area with people with disabilities?
thanks for any help!

Hi Elena,
I have not heard of any permit requirement to travel anywhere in India. Where have you you got this information from? The vehicle you travel in needs to have a permit to enter the State and that can be purchased from the boarder toll on the highway.
India may not be the most accessible country to be in, therefore It is best if you planned your trip in as much detail as possible. Air travel is comfortable, but traveling be train is very difficult for a wheelchair user. there are also deluxe Volvo buses that ply inter state, but again are not accessible to wheelchair users. You can hire taxi's for travel which probably is one one of the best options apart from air travel.
in terms of hotel all five star hotels will surely have an accessible room. Apart from these some new budget hotel chains also have accessible accommodation two of them are the lemontree and ginger hotels. (ginger hotel in Delhi is not accessible though)
If you have any specific questions you may also write to me on shewany@gmail.com

Hi,
Nice initiative by freetowheel. This Indian tourist guide is doing a great job in the favor of handicapped people. Here, those dependent people will experience the same feeling which were experienced by the people without disabilities.
Thanks.
