PostPosted: Tue Apr 13, 2010 6:40 pm    Post subject: Importance of MOTHER........ Reply with quote

Why are you crying, a young boy asked his Mom?

"Because I'm a woman," she told him.

"I don't understand," he said.

His Mom just hugged him and said,
"And you never will, but that's O.K."...

Later the little boy asked his father,
"Why does Mom seem to cry for no reason?".
"All women cry for no reason," was all his Dad could say...

The little boy grew up and became a man,
still wondering why women cry.

Finally he put in a call to God and when God got back to him, he asked "God, why do women cry so easily?"

GOD answered... ..

"When I made woman,
I decided she had to be special.
I made her shoulders
strong enough to carry
the weight of the world, yet,
made her arms gentle enough to give comfort...

I gave her the inner strength
to endure childbirth
and the rejection
that many times will come
even from her own children.

I gave her a hardness
that allows her
to keep going and take care
of her family and friends,
even when everyone else gives up, through sickness and fatigue without
complaining. ...

I gave her the sensitivity to love her children under any and all
circumstances. Even when her child has hurt her badly...

She has the very special power to make a child's boo-boo feel better and
to quell a teenager's anxieties and fears...

I gave her strength to care for her husband, despite faults
and I fashioned her from his rib to protect his heart...

I gave her wisdom to know that a good husband never hurts his wife, but
sometimes tests her strengths and her resolve to stand beside him
unfalteringly. ...

For all of this hard work,
I also gave her a tear to shed.
It is hers to use
whenever needed and !
it is her only weakness...
When you see her cry,
tell her how much you love her, and all she does for everyone, and even though
she may still cry, you will have made her heart feel good.

She is special!
Please send this to women you know, and those with mothers,
sisters, and special women in their lives.

But, also send this to men so they will understand about what a
wonderful thing a woman is.
Each day is a mountain that must be climbed; with courage each step
gets easier.

Love your Mother Always
and keep her Smiling

The Rose That Grew From Concrete:

Did you hear about the rose that grew from a crack
in the concrete
Proving nature’s laws wrong it learned 2 walk
without having feet
Funny it seems but by keeping its dreams
it learned 2 breathe fresh air
Long live the rose that grew from concrete
when no one else ever cared!

PostPosted: Mon May 10, 2010 7:29 pm    Post subject: Buddha's Advice to Calm a Disturbed Mind Reply with quote

Once Buddha was walking from one town to another town with a few of his followers.. This was in the initial days. While they were traveling, they
happened to pass a lake. They stopped there and Buddha told one of his disciples, "I am thirsty. Do get me some water from that lake there."

The disciple walked up to the lake. When he reached it, he noticed that right at that moment, a bullock cart started crossing through the lake. As a result, the water became very muddy, very turbid. The disciple thought, "How can I give this muddy water to Buddha to drink!"

So he came back and told Buddha, "The water in there is very muddy. I don't think it is fit to drink." After about half an hour, again Buddha asked the same disciple to go back to the lake and get him some water to drink. The disciple obediently went back to the lake.

This time too he found that the lake was muddy. He returned and informed Buddha about the same. After sometime, again Buddha asked the same disciple to go back. The disciple reached the lake to find the lake absolutely clean and clear with pure water in it. The mud had settled down and the water above it looked fit to be had. So he collected some water in a pot and brought it to Buddha.

Buddha looked at the water, and then he looked up at the disciple and said," See what you did to make the water clean. You let it be.. and the mud settled down on its own - and you got clear water. Your mind is also like that! When it is disturbed, just let it be. Give it a little time. It will settle down on its own. You don't have to put in any effort to calm it down. It will happen. It is effortless.

make friends with few
in those few
some touch our life

PostPosted: Mon May 24, 2010 12:26 pm    Post subject: Not me, but Through me Reply with quote

My session got over. I was given the
responsibility of helping people on public
speaking. The methodology and the
system were very good. There was a huge difference
from the way they spoke in the first session and the
way they delivered their roaring speeches in the third
week. There was a different kind of feeling in every
cell of mine to see visible, exponential growth in every
individual.

Life takes us through some incidents. There are a few
that we understand -why
it happened to us, for a few
we will get the answer later and there are others for
which we may never understand the -why?
One such
meaningful incident was on the cards...

I usually don't prefer coffee in summer, but that
afternoon was different. I walked towards a roadside
coffee corner. I saw a puddle of water on the road. The
water was overflowing from one of the overhead
tanks. With palatable water being a global issue, here
was an irresponsible citizen who had forgotten to
switch off the motor. The social warrior in me felt
irked. I repeatedly screamed, "Hello! Anyone there?"
No response. Helplessly I strolled towards the
coffee corner.

I had my coffee, and as I was walking back I saw a
thirsty dog quenching its thirst from the same puddle of
water. I felt if I moved forward the dog would get
scared and run away. Its thirst would not be quenched.
So I stopped at a distance. I also stopped a cyclist who
was entering the lane. We waited till the dog was done
with. In the meanwhile the overflow had stopped. I
could infer that the motor was switched off.

The water on the road, the dog quenching its thirst, my
choice to have coffee on a summer afternoon -all
these
can't be mere coincidences. My thought flow went:
"Hey Paraman! Somewhere, few streets away, a dog
felt thirsty. The Father above made a plan. Somebody
had switched on the motor. Pressure must have been
uncontrollable that he locked himself in a restroom.
The tank had to overflow. Just in matter of minutes, the
man should have come out and switched off the motor.
But that was enough to create a puddle of water on the
street. The dog felt an impulsive invitation to visit that
particular street. In between I became a social warrior.
Everything was planned and it was His perfect
execution. I just happened to be there."

Take as His

and see
as His

Paefaaimnthii

Not me,
but

THROUGH me....

My thoughts continued... "Then that's the case with
my public speaking training too. Those people have
been chosen to become better communicators. The
methodology and systems were already in place. I just
happened to be chosen to guide them. If I weren't there,
somebody would have been there. I am a mere
instrument. It is not The', but it is 'through me' that it is
happening. I use my Sheaffer pen for all my writing.
With that black pen I have signed some very important
documents, written articles and have also expressed
my love to my darling wife. Hey, the pen didn't write
by itself. I did, using it as an instrument. Same is the
case with you. Oh Paraman! Take everything as His
execution and see yourself as His instrument."

My mind questioned, "If everything can happen through
you and you are just an instrument, then why should
you work?" And my very mind answered, "If you
didn't know how to help them on public speaking, you
would not have been the instrument there. If you are
not a good enough instrument, nobody would use you."

I felt liberated -"I
am only an instrument." I felt
responsible -"I
have to be a good enough instrument."
I felt grateful -"GOD
used the DOG as an instrument to
transform me." Oh... this too was His plan.

EVERYBODY KNOWS...
You can't be all things to all people.
You can't do all things at once.
You can't do all things equally well.
You can't do all things better than everyone else.
SO ...
You have to find out who you are, and be that.
You have to decide what comes first, and do that.
You have to discover your strengths, and use them.
Because no one else is in the contest of "being you."
THEN...
You will have learned to accept your own uniqueness.
You will have learned to set priorities and make decisions.
You will have learned to live with your limitations.
You will have learned to give yourself the respect that is due,
And you'll be a most vital mortal.
DARE TO BELIEVE...
That you are a wonderful, unique person.
That you are a once-in-all-history event.
That it's more than a right, it's your duty, to be who you are.
That life is not a problem to solve, but a gift to cherish.
And you'll be able to stay one up on what used to get you down.
So, Dare to Believe and begin to Believe…

Woman has great role to play in bringing transformation. Women can influence
many men around them -father, brother, children, spouse. They have
more power and more influence. In Indian mythology all the powerful
portfolios like defense ministry, finance and education are with women.
What else do you want? In India we believe man and woman are equal
partners. There is concept of Ardhnarishver God is neither male nor
female. Divine is half male and half female. Everyone is like that.
Nobody is full male or full female. There are genes of both mother and
father within each one of us. So, we must respect women. Women should
take more lead in the society. And I think that women can be better
peace maker, and then less conflict, greed and corruption will be there
in the world. Corruption can only happen outside the boundary of
belongingness. Heart can never be corrupt. It is mind which goes
corrupt. Heart always longs for old and mind for new. Isnt it so? You
want more and more in mind but the heart says, I am happy. Heart
wants to give and mind wants to take. women are more with their heart.
She should keep that quality while developing leadership and taking
more social responsibility.
