Hi
welcome to the forum.....
See the below link...if everything u look for is there, u can order from them, they must be having links in and around Assam, am not sure, but give a try.
http://www.indiamedico.com/rehabilitation_aids_products/wheelchairs.php
See the battery power wheelchair  tag.
Callidai , the link given by Shivani above is equally good and they exclusively deal with wheel chairs, but enquire them if it is possible to send one to Assam.
Regards

Hi,
I enquired about the price of automatic wheelchairs from osttrichMobillity, IndiaMedicoInstruments and CallidaiMotorWorks, but got a satisfactory reply including the price only from osttrichMobillity. What about the other two?

HI,

Mobility scooters have made the lives of those who are physically handicapped easier and more convenient. A mobility scooter is like a wheelchair, but with a motor attached. A scooter usually has a basket attached that allows a person to go shopping or just carry added extras that they might need.

Thanks,

I am sure that this chat session has reached its natural conclusion a couple of years ago but for everyones information I am posting this.  While Ostrich Mobility do good chair which are made in India you can get the best chairs made in the world Permobil or Otto Bock from suppliers/service centres in Delhi/Mumbai.  These chairs are 5 to 10 time the price ranging from 5 to 15 Lakh Rupees.  However if you have friends or relatives in the UK you can pick up a chair of 2 to 5 years old for 15% of the original price.  This means you will have a top-notch cair for the price of a very average chair made in India.  The issue with this is getting the chair here from the UK and the cost of repairs and servicing which will be much higher.  However these chairs are very reliable and very high performance.  Vingrace are the Permobil dealers in Delhi.
