The Income Tax Department, in partnership with NIIT, brings an opportunity for the unemployed/partially employed graduates to become self-employed professionals through first-of-its-kind initiative called Tax Return Preparer Scheme (TRPS).
It offers training to 5000 graduates across the country at the state of the art NIIT centres. The cost of training will be borne by the Income Tax Department. Graduates who complete the training successfully will be issued a certificate and a unique identification number which will authorize them under the Income Tax Act, 1961 to work as self employed Tax Return Preparers.
The scheme authorizes the self-employed Tax Return Preparers to prepare and file the tax-returns of small and marginal individual and HUF tax payers. So, avail the opportunity to be a proud professional, work from your home town and help your people.
The first batch of about 3900 TRP's have already passed out from varous centre's of NIIT and the next batch will start in a few months. The announcement will be made in all major national dailies and other print media. The scheme althoug very recently introduced may be modified to encourage participation from persons with disability (I came to know through some sources).
I think it is a brilliant scheme and will help many unemployed graduates in getting self employed and starting home based financial services.
